Reed Peck-Kriss, Artist Blacksmith
Reed began blacksmithing in his backyard at the age of 12, and has been working as a professional blacksmith, doing both sculptural and architectural work, since 2015. Reed’s work has been featured in homes, galleries, and exhibitions across the U.S, as well as internationally.
Reed enjoys bringing out the organic elements of metal in both functional and ornamental work, and seeks to give a sense of the life of the object in time, a moment captured in metal. He views my sculptural, architectural, and furniture scale work to all ultimately be a part of the same practice, exploring aspects of form, line, connection, space, and a changing moment as a part of our world.
Reed was the 2019-2021 resident apprentice at the Metal Museum, and is now continuing his journeymanship at different workshops and studios though the country.
